High-performance PEEK materials for reliable components in demanding energy and power environments.
Why Choose PEEK for Energy and Power Systems?
ZYPEEK materials combine resistance to heat, chemicals, hydrolysis and ionising radiation with electrical insulation and mechanical strength. These properties support components used in oil and gas, nuclear power, marine equipment, renewable energy and other demanding systems exposed to high temperature, pressure or corrosive media.
PEEK retains mechanical performance across a wide temperature range and offers low flammability and smoke generation. Depending on the grade and test thickness, it can meet UL 94 V-0 requirements for components used in demanding operating environments.
PEEK resists many acids, alkalis, salts, oils and organic solvents. It also maintains performance in hot water and steam, subject to the specific medium and operating conditions, making it suitable for selected oil and gas, nuclear and industrial components.
PEEK offers tensile and flexural strength, creep resistance, toughness and fatigue performance. These properties support bearings, seals and other components exposed to repeated loads, friction and long service cycles.
PEEK can retain electrical insulation under heat, pressure and humidity. Its dielectric strength, volume resistivity and low dielectric loss support connectors, insulating parts, coil components and sensor housings in demanding electrical systems.
Selected PEEK grades can retain useful properties after exposure to ionising radiation. Low moisture absorption and a low coefficient of thermal expansion also help precision components maintain dimensional stability across changing temperatures and humidity levels.
PEEK has a lower density than many metals and can be processed by injection moulding, extrusion and compression moulding. This flexibility supports lightweight, complex components and efficient production across a range of energy applications.
Advanced Materials for Energy and Power Equipment
Power-grid upgrades, renewable-energy growth and more demanding operating conditions are increasing the need for materials that combine heat resistance, stable insulation, low weight and long-term mechanical performance.
